But the carbon material cannot be perfect - its threads are designed only for tensile force, therefore, it is used only as a reinforcing material. When used in panels and car bodies, an alloy is used, or rather modified fiber - rubber fibers are interwoven with carbon fiber threads. Such carbon fibers are still used to produce clutch discs and carbon-ceramic brake discs because they have the ability to maintain performance properties at higher temperatures than steel discs. For example, they started to use carbon in the Formula 1 in the seventies (Porsche Carrera GT, Mercedes McLaren).
In the production of many machines are widely used all kinds of plastic. Very elastic and durable plastic used in the manufacture of body panels, in many models (Chevrolet Corvette for example) - completely the outer part of the body parts.
